Default Painting question

If i wanted to paint my car myself, sand it down like no other and paint it myself what would i have to buy/do?
not a spray paint job, like a good paint job, i have a white car but the paint has definitely seen better days.

i want to paint it white again.

the things you will need are:
1. sandpaper
2. sanding block
3. bondo
4. primer
5. paint- base coats, clear coat, activator, reducer
6. a spray gun
7. air compressor
8. masking tape
9. masking paper
10. tact cloth
11. rubbing alcohol

steps:
1. sand the car down and the the body straight with bondo
2. mask off car
3. wipe down with alcohol
4. primer it
5. wet sand it with about 400-600 grit
6. shoot the basecoat
7. shoot clear coat
8. color sand
9. buff/polish

This is basically what you need to do, but of course these are very vague instructions. There are a lot of other little things you need to know and should research before attempting to paint your car. It isn't an easy job.

in my sig i have a build thread. check that out. and as for supplies, the gentleman above me has it down pretty good. i would recommend using like an 80 grit. then a 180, then a 320 to finish it off. but the quality of the job you get depends on how much time you want and have to put in it.

Just curious why this thread don't get locked but the one with "acura integra usdm to jdm front" thread get's locked when that actually has something to do with "acura integra"! just a simple question.
