Default TPS help! it always reads 5V no matter what!!

Hey guys, just like the title says... My TPS always reads 5V, no matter what position it is in...

The motor is a jdm b16 in a 90 crx si, code 7, so I grabbed my multimeter, turned the key to the ON position (no engine running) tapped the yellow/white and green/white wires and found that no matter what position the TPS is it always reads 5 volts...

Is my TPS bad? Thanks for the help in advance!

if you are measuring the middle wire (signal) then yes, bad TPS.

Is that the same wire(s) I am looking for on a Stock 91 CRX HF? To test my TPS, that is.

checking between yellow/white and green/white should always give you 5V - to check the TPS to see if it is working correctly, you need to check the voltage between the red/blue and green/white wires

goto the junkyard and just snag a throttle body for 25$... since that stupid sensor is rivetted in.

Does it matter if it's from an Si (and I have an HF). What about a DX? What about civics of similar vintage, must it be the exact same engine, or did they all use the same throttle body? (88-91 Crx/civic)

that or you can order the Omni Power one...mine is bad also, but I dont feel like buying a new TB just to get a TPS...the Omni Power one is around $80 but I seen it on other sites for around $60....Yeah Ive tried unplugging it and reseting the ecu then the CEL goes away but then after driving I see my throttle % needle on my controller go crazy, kinda miss fire while on throttle then the CEL comes on then it stops.

thanks jlicrx, Problem solved, turns out I was checking voltage on the two wrong wires (G/W, Y/W wires) once I checked the R/B (middle wire) and G/W it worked fine after a quick adjustment, problem solved! No more CEL (on at least...)
