Default ::The official Type SH performance thread::

just throwin this out there since i didnt find it in the FAQ...im looking at realistically modifying my h22a4 in my type SH and wanted to know what the deal is if i wanted to keep ATTS. Id also like to see some dynos and 1/4 mile times of some SH's and people with personal experience in modifying their SH.

How do you normally drive? my car is my daily driver so i spend most of my time in the 3K to 5K rpm range. But looking at the dyno graphs for the simple bolt-on mods like cai and header, the power/torque gain are in the higher rpm range. so i won't see much of those gains.
Is there anything that would shift the power gain to the lower rpm range?

yea bro there's not much u can do without messing up the ATTS...just your simple bolts ons, CAI, HEADER,2.5 Exhaust, greddy emanage, maybe the type s cams, S2K throttle body, Iradium plugs and wires...pretty much it and have fun with the handling...
You looking for more agrressive power i'd say get a base model..

I think this thread will be more productive if people list what they know causes problems on an SH, not what works. I'm pretty sure there are people running low boost setups that maintain ATTS functionality, not sure about n2o, and many of us are n/a. There are obviously many things that will work, but only a few that won't.

The big one I know off-hand is no OBD1, no chips, etc. However, I'm curious if anyone has tried running parallel ecu's before (I'm guessing not). I don't know this for a fact, but I'm guessing no changing gear ratios (including fd).

Big question for me right now is if anyone has tried stroking an SH before. I'm contemplating rebuilding the bottom end with crank & rods from an f22, but not sure if this will wreak havoc on the atts controller.

Using VAFC to lean out the A/F and drop VTEC a little lower would give you power in that range. Also, I'm researching a way to modify the butterflies in the IM to get some more 4k-5k power.

lol that, too, is my thread...on allprelude forums im brlude161 so anyway...
my mods include
an aluminum radiator
rotors, calipers etc
OEM internals redone at around 100,000
dc headers
dc exhaust
dc struts and strut bar
skunk 2 coilovers
stage2 clutch
and more...
but im not seeing the power that u seem to be...i lost to a single cam 4th gen FTL, although i am a new driver it seemed he had the advantage in weight and driving.

i read all about the euroR intake manifold and all the custom plates and mounts needed or whatever and im not looking for that much of a pain in the ***...also what is a greddy eManage?

Your main problem is that DC junk you have installed. Replace the header and exhaust for what I have. Greddy eManage is the only ATTS-friendly tune you can get.

the only thing I see in that list that might be getting you any power is the dc exhaust & maybe 1 or 2 points with the header. you don't have any other power mods installed, so I'm not sure what you're expecting. and yes, 4th gens are lighter by about 200lbs over the SH, so you're already at a significant disadvantage in that case.

Im looking in to the greddy emanage does anyone know if it will control my atts, I want to retain the atts working. But I want to know from some one that has actually done it and not what theyve heard.

Greddy eManage and AEM F/IC do not disable ATTS, but they don't "control" it either.

I know if you go over the 250whp range with atts it will fail. If your looking for the most power out if it just slap on a jackson racing super charger with i/h/e that will be about as much power as you can get before the atts will go haywire.

Theres very little performance work done on your car. Your lucky if your pushing 160 whp. That dc stuff is probably a hindrance on your exhaust given the typical decent efficiency of the h22 stock header (h23a1 header is a different story, any aftermarket header is an improvement).
