D16z6 turbo first start idle pegs at 5000 RPM WHY!!!
I have a d16z6 and i started it up for the first time in 2 years, and the rpms shoot up to 5000 rpms right off the get go... the tb isn;t stuck..... any other suggestions?
Check all the sensors to make sure they are all plugged in correctly, also check to make sure there are no vaccum leaks.
checked all around the manifold and lines..... do you think a vac leak would really shoot the rpm up to 5000 rpm? I would think it would make the car bog.....

Does it jump to 5000k each time you upshift?
Since your car has been sitting for 2 years, it's possible some vacuum lines might have became brittle and POP when you finally started it up...
Just my .02 cents

I checked the lines all around the IM and they are all connected.... I did install a phenelic gasket with honda gaskets on either side....
i cchecked the TB... positioning sensor is reading .57 closed.. 4.6 WOT.... also tapped off intake holes off of the TB for the Idle control valve... still 4-5k...... WTF.... alll lines off of the manifold are connected to lines..... i really hope it isn;t the wholt manifold itself not sitting right......

Well it's getting air from some where, plug brake booster, plug both holes like you did for iacv/fitv, make sure the throttle plate closes all the way when your off the throttle, look for anywhere else air is getting in...
Air has to be getting in from somewhere... I put a nitril glove over the TB... and the car still started!!!! it reved to 4k... then surged back to 2k..... then back to 4 k..... WTF!!!!
I believe I have found the problem... DING DING DING... I hope.... I Installed a TB thermal gasket and the TB gasket was too short and left part of the bottom of the TB exposed... to allow air to leak in from behind the TB plate....
Thanks for everyones inputs.
