Stage 5 clutch on stock Rsx good or bad idea?
Just wondering if I should do this to my car it is very lightly moded nothing big just a V2 intake and Greddy evo 2 catback but now my my clutch went out and the only one i could find close and affordable is a (stage 5 clutch masters) clutch kit is it a good idea or not?
im planning to do the same but my homie put a stage 5 and in less then a week he ****ed up the master cylinder. so ima go with something like stage 2.
is there a sale going on for that clutch or something? pointless to have a clutch like that when you don't need to hold 400+ pounds of torque and it won't really be streetable imo.
Don't buy something that crazy. It'll be a pain in the *** to drive on the street. Why would a Stage 5 cost less than an OEM or lighter stage clutch?
do as you please, but with most of our advise and mine, i dont think daily driving something with a stage 5 clutch would be good, it would hurt you leg in the long run ... can you imagine, your left leg eventually snapping in half from all the needless amount of effort while daily driving your car, then out of no where the clutch pedal pushes back with enough crazy force to rip up your entire drivers side of the car ... LOL ... i may be making that last part up but anything can happen right ... LOL ... just dont, save up your money, buy a stage 3 if you really want (which will still snap your leg in half, lol) and buy a 10 lb flywheel to go with it ... that will make your day
... or maybe, just maybe, you can go with my choice and buy the whole Toda High Power Single Clutch kit w/ light flywheel included ...
... now THAT will make your day ...

and people on here think I'm crazy. I have a stage4 6 puck competition clutch with 10lbs flywheel combo. I love it. My engine is basically stock (sans the k24 swap

keep in mind that upgrading your clutch when it isn't needed is doing 0 for performance. also, stronger clutchs typically wear out faster, are a pain in the *** for driving in stop and go traffic, and can wear out the master cylinder faster as already mentioned. with only light mods i'd stick with an oem clutch. if it's any cheaper than an actual oem clutch, look into the exedy oem replacement.
