Default cai question

Hey guys... I got a question... I have a 89 dx with a stock d15 and I can't find a cold air intake to save my life right now. I was wondering if a cai for an si will fit on my car ok or would I have to swap out for the d16. I want to do that in the future but I don't know if I can put the cai on now or do I have to wait til later. I was thinking of an aem or something. Right now I have a drop in k&n filter. If the gains are not that great I will just wait til later and work on my exhaust. Thanks guys.

You will probably not gain much from a intake on a dpfi but its all your call I doubt you will gain much on exhaust either. You can modify the one from the mpfi to fit but you would probably have to hack some of the tube off or move your battery. They also make ebay ones for the std/dx civic/crx to. Or you can go to pep boys/napa/autozone what ever and get one of the cheap make your own intakes. In my oppion if you have a drop in k&n just keep it that way till you do a swap your not going to notice any power gains at all. Save your money from buying a intake for other parts or your swap. just my .02
