picked up a obd1 jdm d15b this weekend for my dd 95 ex civic. put new plugs and swaped all the sencors and dizzy with the z6. got it all in and went to start it and it started but it runs like crap. no cels also when u rev it it only goes to like 5000 b4 it bogs out got no clue what it could be. running the stock p28 . could it be that i have to get the right ecu or is it something stupid.

 

you can run a P28 fine with that motor. I'm doing it. BTW there is a great sticky on this motor on d-series.org.

y didnt you use the stock dizzy on the d15b. I wonder if the timing is off?

 

Sounds like timing to me. Rotate the dist, see if that helps.

The motor could just be junk, have you checked compression? Lots of crap coming over from japan these days.

 

Check your idle control valve .

 

sounds stupid check you have the spark plug wires in the right order.
rotate the dizzy.

 

thanks for the help didt use the dizzy bc the cap is all messed up messed with the dizzy checking the timing today
