Default Idle problem after a little bit of water got into through CAI...

Hi guys, I have 08 Accord coupe, just installed CAI not too long ago and water somehow got into my CAI and briefly made my car rattle and sound like a really old Ford T model or something like that, but when I turned back on my ignition it came back to normal and such.
However, on rainy weathers or just damp weather, I don't know if it's just those weather but it seems like my car's RPM goes up and down really small at like 600-1000RPM or even less of that gap but frequently when I go to a stop.
Anyone knows what I should do?
I still have warranty but since this is caused by CAI I doubt they would do anything...
Please recommend something and tell me what's wrong!!!

If you bent the rods you're done.....but
if you bought the car new and maintained it at the dealership and AHM did the financing you might get one time "good will" repair......note I said might.

they do want you to finnish paying for it so they will evaluate the situation and decide if it's worth it to pay for the repair.

honestly, you knew the risk when you put that **** on your car, you made your bed don't be surprised if you have to lie in it.

MIGHT is a huge word for aftermarket intakes.we had a 05 tl in the shop and the guy bought the car used and it sucked up water in the intake.the customer thought it was ok and about 1 month later of driving the engine did a top fuel trick and ripped the block on both sides of the cylinders. so joe schmo comes in and says the car made a noise and stopped and he towed it in thinking it was covered.WRONG i had ahm calling and wanting to pick up the motor since we dont have motor failures and under normal driving but after inspecting the car over and finding the the stock air cleaner assembly not messed with the top lid told the story. the dude drove the car in really deep water and did a tard move thinking the car will be fine.so after his insurance company came and took pictures he declined the repairs. the customer is pissed now but has no choice to fix it since he just bought it 4 months back so he approved the repair to install a new motor he finally told us what happend since he was paying the bill.
moral of this story they will not good will a motor for abuse or neglect and dont try and install your stock intake and think we dont know. you will have to auth a tear down and when the engine is torn down the proof is in the engine from combustion patterns

SOMEHOW !!!
mmm more like dude the water is not deep and my car can go through it no problem. wrong my friend you have to have some common seance when driving thru large bodies of standing water.i would not drive it until it is fixed it WILL self destruct in a matter of time first with a idle problems and odd noises in the engine.

Honda will NEVER pay for the damages caused by an aftermarket product including amsoil. Period.

maybe not in your zone but they do in mine......I have done work under warranty that everyone knew shouldn't have been done....late 90's early 00's it was outta ******* control. They didn't do it all the time but they did it. It was all about TSI and still for the most part still is.

bullshit I have done under warranty that was not a manufactuer defect
clutch in a prelude with the 1/4 timeslips in the glovebox
rockholes in condensers.....hundreds of them
longblock in a 99 civic si that had been running on race gas with autolite plugs
bent valves in a 05 accord v-6 mt over rev
the list can go on and on

"there gonna do a one time goodwill on this one." :throwtoolsacrosstheshop:

well this is straight out of my dpsm mouth that HONDA and been put on a ZERO good will anything as of jan 1 2009. ask around its true and acura is soon to follow suit and will not be that easy for some bs stuff that has been covered. sure we have some stuff that should have not been done but when the warranty admin submits the claim it will get kicked back.
does the tech hear about it most likely not so we all think they got over but uncle HONDA is watching.

i know the good will bus was cruising all over the honda and acura dealers last year and prior but in the current state of financial status were in the money is no longer flowing like before.

Well that is good to hear on the ZERO goodwilling. I can say I haven't seen too much goodwill going on here lately either, but there hasen't been too much going on as far as odd ball stuff either.

I also agree Honda has been tightening the belt around here too. Our trainning center is about seven miles from my home (thankfully) and they took out the gourmet coffee and expresso machines lol. One thing that is sad speaking of school, we are a five state zone and the only ones at the trainning center now are locals because most out of town or out of state dealers won't send their techs if they have to pay for expences....damn shame.

I used to live 5 minutes away from the Mid Atlantic training center. Since I moved my dealer has been too cheap to send me to school even in the good times.

so Honda in your zone is really generous. I thinks most car manufacturers will not be responsible for after market products.
