Default Weekend with the R (pics)

The R and I spent some time this weekend. Timing belt, Water pump, Oil Change.

couple of notes:
- Do not buy el Cheapo electric impact gun, they are all pieces of crap.
- Do not overtight the water pump bolts.
- Do not pick up compressor tanks in an EM1

Here are the pics...

Here she is, a little dirty, wanting to get a new Valve cover, but i guess it will have to wait.

since the wheel is out, just a pic of my suspension set up.

KONI FTW

Lining up #1 TDC

it looks like i am running a little off....

everything looking good so far.....

Until this point......
i am just showing a little oil and dirt build up, but the big problem was the F$#ing crack bolt that didnt want to come out.

Solution: drive to your friends house and pick up his compressor and gun.
i am never doing this **** again. The compressor was a pain in the @ss.

Finally got the crank bolt loose and taken out the belt.

New water pump...

and new Oil and Filter

and finally getting everything back on...

I am jealous for the work you have done. I am going to get it done at Acura because I have nowhere to do it. Why not just repaint your valve cover? Also I noticed that HUGE ground strap. Why so big? If you are interested I sell smaller better looking ones for $14.

- in regards to the "why such a big ground wire" It came with the car, i hate it, but no money to change that.

Try the dishwasher, I am curious to see how it comes out. You have nothing to lose.

I was considering getting mine done.... 30,200 miles but 8 years old..... should I wait? The other belts dont appear to be cracking or dry, my mechanic who will most likely do this for me said to wait, but the consequences are steep.

Good job on doing your own work and staying focused after a hang up or two... I dont have the patients to deal with car mechanical things when they dont go perfect.
