Default need help..using obd-0 dizzy on jdm zc sohc vtec motor

1991 civic hatch si
jdm zc single cam vtec motor

i bought a 91 civic hatch si a couple weeks ago..it came with a jdm zc single cam vtec motor.everything is obd-0..running an obd-0 b16 ecu.

since its obd-0.the previous owner didnt use the correct dizzy.has an obd-0 d16a6 dizzy..it doesnt line up with the arms.so only the top arm was bolted on there..i was on the freeway the other day. and my car just shut off.i was able to pull over.popped my hood and noticed the dizzy was loose.didnt have tools with me.so i tighten it up as much as i could with my hand.it started back up again.i took off.got to where i needed to be.couple hours later..im back on the freeway and my car turns off again.the dizzy was once again loose.i did the same thing.i tighten it up with my hand but this time.the dizzy didnt stay in place.it was moving around everytime i tried starting it.it was pretty frustrating.

i called my brother.told him to bring me some tools to tighten it up.he got to where i was.i used some tools this time but i broke the arm.i guess i tighten it too much.the dizzy just wouldnt stay in place...so now im looking for another dizzy..is there a certain way, tips or something to make the dizzy stay nice and tight and not move around? since its not obd-1.i cant use the proper dizzy.i do plan on converting it to obd-1 later on when i have the money so i dont have to be going through these headaches

hope i made some sence here

this is my daily.so i need to get my car running again very soon
i really appreciate any help i can get

thanks fellas

if you want an engineering project, you might try to swap the guts of the obd0 distributor into the housing of an obd1 distributor. I have never tried it, so i can't really help..

otherwise, red loctite? you should probably also be using a torque wrench so you dont strip out the holes in the head and make life worse.. use red loctite and the proper torque, and wait a day or 2 for the loctite to do its thing, and you will probably be in better shape.

I was running my SOHC D15B VTEC with one distributor bolt. Never had a problem getting loose. Maybe you have the wrong threading bolt or the thread itself might be damage. Other then that you might wanna use loctite or something to keep it steady.

timing? is everything properly working in it? the coil, ignitor, rotor....did you make sure the crank is TDC? maybe the pins on the new one need to be re done like the other one was more than likely...there is a number of things, what happens when you try to start it?

what I would do is take the dizzy out, adjust the crank to TDC, put it back on, install rotor, run the plug wires in the correct order and try to start it..if not could be the dizzy wires need to be re pinned or bad coil and or ignitor....been there done that.
