Default Wiring in Accessories

I've got my AEM guage, and radar detector to wire in for power.

I've read that there is a spare fuse for such items, however I don't want to be ghetto and just jam the wires in there and push a fuse in. I like to solder/tape/etc. In the past I've always found other wires, what do you all do for power?

Thanks in advance.

I permanently wired my valentine 1 and two serial gauges to the spare terminals in the fuse box. if you look at the fuse box there's 2 or 3 accessory terminals. at least one has constant 12V power and at least one is only on when the key is in the on position. there's also two factory grounding points right near the fuse box to use.

You could just get a splitter at advance or autozone. Has the wires and everything ready to go.

The fuse with wires coming out of it? Negative. I looked @ both places, they only have the larger fuses there..not the super small ones.

That's weird. I was just in the Advance here yesterday and had the one with the small fuses in my hand. And I have one from Autozone in my hatch for the gauges. Just ask them if they can order it cause I know they both carry them.

The accessory plugs looks kinda like the color ones here. This is a civic fuse box though.

There are two ways to tap into these fuse block outputs. The preferred way is to go the junkyard and find a mid-nineties Honda/Acura with power door locks. Under the driver's side door panel you can find a little brown plug that fits perfectly into the fuse outputs. Only the brown plug will work. The second way is to plug in a female quick disconnect. Don't forget you also always add an additional inline fuse.

Would a 99 Si have that plug?

I know where one is being parted out after it being totaled.

Yes... But you don't have to use that plug. A female disconnect works just fine as well.

I found the quick disconnects while I was @ Home Depot. So I should be able to knock that out in the next few days.
