What's up h-t! I'm a frequent contributor to the 92-00 Civic forum, but spend little time in any other section. I've never shown my car before, so I figured there was no better time then when I take off my snows for the summers.
I've always loved gold wheels on a red car...and curiousity got the best of me. I went ahead and picked out a gold I liked, and some clearcoat designed specifically for wheels. If you look closely, you can see I made the insides of the wheels bronze, and the faces gold. I hope there's no more snow coming!
Car: 2000 Civic DX "Special Edition" hatch
This is how I bought the car a couple years ago (bone stock, 1-owner car):

This is how it looks now (sorry about the blurry pictures...they were taken with a BB Curve):

it looks ok
personally I think its kind of typical- gold painted stock wheels-
I persoanlly think they would be better polished- they would have more contrast with the red.
keep up the good work though

if you want them to look really clean... in an easy way- you should get the silver wheel paint they sell-
its a nice silver with alot of metallic in it-
get them looking minty-

I got these wheels in rough shape...so I painted them. If they were fresh they never would have been painted.
Yeah, I would prefer gold to silver though. I should get a proper digital camera and get better pictures. The wheels look so much better in person than these stupid phone pics.

clean it really nice and get some shots with a tripod- or a makeshift one-
you are right, the pictures dont do it justice-
try taking some shots with the wheels straight in the front, instead of turned

I'm a big fan of polished wheels, but when I bought these rims one of them had a scratch. Sanding and painting pretty much took care of it, but if I polished it it would be easily visible. Unless I go pay to get them professionally done somewhere...I guess that's an option.
I personally think
although you just painted them-
if you got this paint:
http://g-ec2.images-amazon.com/image...ery-tools_.jpg
and did primer and the silver and the clear- they would look soooo clean-
I just think when you add a color to a stock wheel, like gold- it takes away from the "simple" look of the wheel-
which is why they look so good silver-
but thats just my opinion- do what you want!
if you want anything else photoshopped- just let me know- lips, etc.
