i want to know what ECU is a PS9 because i just finished my mpfi swap and my friend gave this ecu to me and he said its the right one for the wire harnest i used for my mpfi swap now i think the 88-89 integra ECU's are the PG7 ones right because PS9 i never heard of it before for mpfi swaps. also when i plugged the ecu in my car runs fine but the engine check light is on. i counted how many times the red light blinked it was 19 times exact and i searched it up and its some kind of lock up code but for (auto only) so could i be just be using automatic and that thats why my engine check light is on possibly? any feed is apreciated thanks.

Model - 90/91 Civic EX
Transmission - Automatic
The PS9 ECU is from an 88-91 4 door Civic EX automatic transmission. The CEL is because of that, but there may be a way to remove a resistor and take care of that. Check the FAQ and search for converting an ECU from auto to manual.

I am pretty sure what he means is what code are you throwing with the pm6 ecu? The ps9 will work you will have a CEL for auto lockup trans because obviously it's an automatic ecu. Won't hurt you unless you happen to have to get a smog check in your area.
Which motor did you put in the car? Did you make the DX motor a MPFI? or did you swap in a different motor all together?

the ps9 can be chipped to run your setup, its most commonly used for vtec swaps, you can chip the ecu and use the auto function to activate vtec, also known as 1 wire vtec

i am running a ps9 88-91 civic 4door ex automatic one right now and the code light blinks exactly 19 times i looked up the code and it said it was a lock up code but for (auto trans only) it said, so im thinking if i swap the auto ecu out with a 89 teggy stick shift one the ENGINE CHECK LIGHT will go away but another thing is that i just bought a pm6 ecu from an si model and it doesnt work that good like i start the car up and it takes two crank overs to start it then it runs, but shitty idle and doesnt rev up past 3000 rpm it sputters and boggs. but when i use the 88-91 ex ps9 auto ecu it starts up fast, idles good, revs up all the way but the CHECK ENGINE LIGHT is still on so i dont know what the problem is using the pm6 ecu. if anyone can help me thatll be great thankx
Lol my bad I had read it wrong, I thought he had hooked up a integra ecu and was also getting a CEL with that too, my fault, it was refering to when you plugged in the ps9.
Well as you said, it's an automatic ps9 ecu. On auto trannys there is a sensor on them for the Automatic Transmission Lock Up Control Solenoid Valve and since you have a 5 speed trans and it doesnt have this sensor the ECU recognizes that it's not receiving signal from that sensor hence throwing the check engine light. It will always throw that code since it's an auto trans ECU and you are running a manual trans that does not have that sensor on it. The only way to get rid of the CEL is someone maybe able to convert it to 5 speed which im not 100% sure if it's possible on OBD-0 cars or you could always just find a 5 speed ps9 ECU. Or you can purchase one from Xenocron and have it chipped with the basemap of the d15b7. http://www.xenocron.com/obd0-chipped...ebaaaa148bbce4
Having this code will not cause any drivability issues with the car and it WILL NOT hurt the motor. The only thing it will cause problems with is getting the car E-CHECKED.
