Default Hooking up a flashing LED.

Is it possible to hook up a flashing LED light (as in the one's alarms come with) My car does not really need a alarm so i'm not willing to fork out the money to buy one. it's very secure. just want to add a flashing LED . My worrie's are draining the battery could i run it threw my head unit. there's a flasing light on that when the car's off and key is removed.

Find a 12V flashing LED, connect the red to a 12V+ constant source and connect the ground to a 12V acc. source, LED will flash when ign. switch is off, [not when it is on].
The LED will draw so little current that it makes no diff. to the batt.

You can get "flashing" LEDs from Varad... http://www.varad.com/v4/products/details/llseries.php that will get you more "life" out of your LED.94

Quite clever. Took me three minutes to realize why this works or if there was a typo, makes sense now since it's still following a path to ground.
