Default emergency brake light

The e-brake light comes on and off in my car, it comes on when im giving it more than 1/4 throttle in 1st and it will go away when i shift/let off the gas. i thought i could be low on brake fluid so i put some in. the light still comes on under the same conditions. what gives? my brake fluid cap seems loose even when tightened down, could that be the cause?

maybe you need a new cap. There is a float under the cap that will trigger the light if it gets too low.

You may also want to look at the wire that runs to the e-brake itself. That "sensor" lets you know the e-brake is on, and it could be out of adjustment or just bad. I doubt it, but I am just give you ideas. Good luck!
