Stick a flat head screwdriver in the far left and right sides and pry carefully off, be careful not to break tabs.

I had oversized MB Quart 6.5's in there...pretty deep, but you'll have to cut up the bracket a little

If you're thinking about putting subs there. I saw a guy with a G3 teg put some 8" subs there with custom brackets. There is alot of room back there so you have lots of freedom. I don't know about keeping the stock plastic cover though, it would probably rattle like crazy.

The guy with the subs cut a new speaker hole into the interior panels and put bigger speaker covers.

Actually come to think of it, they might have been 10" subs

I don't have much details as the last time I saw that car was 2 years ago. Take you interior panels off, take the car to a car audio shop and ask them what they can do.

-Tommy who used to be into car audio.

you have any more information on this??!?!

That's a good picture. You see that metal bracket behind the control box that looks like it is reinforcing the body panel. Anybody remove this thing for weight savings? It looks like it doesn't have a direct purpose besides protecting the rear passengers in a slow collision.

Doesn't look like much weight to be saved but every ounce counts

I would stick with "free air" subs. I don't know if you can get a good sealed or ported box in that space.
