FS/FT 1991 Rio Red Honda CRX HF -B18c powered-Low Mileage!
The Car:
1991 Rio Red Honda CRX HF
Clean Title car, Title is in my name.
The car currently has only 67,928 miles on it, super low mileage for the year. There are far less miles on the newer Motor and Transmission.
The Motor Set-up:
JDM B18c Motor and Transmission shipped over from http://www.hmotorsonline.com/. The Swap Is 100% legitimate, I still have receipts that total up to be around 4,000$.
The motor is supported by Hasport motor mounts.
The car is running a JDM GSR Transmission (LSD equipped), that is matted with a Hasport cable-hydraulic conversion kit, and Hasport shift linkage. Accompanying the limited slip powered transmission is a Fidanza lightweight flywheel, and an Exedy clutch.
The CRX has been converted from an OBD0 to OBD1, with the help of a Rywire conversion harness (with pigtail).
The Motor is in near stock form, it is equipped with a 65mm throttle body and an AEM cold air intake. I recently purchased a Tanabe Touring Medallion exhaust, it gives the car a tone not commonly found on your every day Honda; it is a subtle yet refined tone that I believe is superior to most of the exhaust systems out on the market.
The Suspension & Brakes:
The CRX is lowered with Tein S-tech lowering springs. The springs lowered the car about an inch and a half, without sacrificing ride quality. The car is also riding on a newer set of OEM shocks.
The car is also equipped with an Integra GSR front brake set-up, Russell stainless steel brake lines, and it is paired with a set of Hawk HP+ ceramic brake pads. This car can stop on a dime, anywhere anytime.
I recently replaced the entire front end of the car with new upper control arms, inner tie rods, outer tie rods, and sway bar bushings. It made a world of a difference on the car, everything is tight and steering response is great.
The interior:
The inside of the car is pretty simple, and very clean. The Rio Red colored CRX’s were one of the few models to come with a black interior. The seats are clean and in good shape, but there is a patch on the driver’s seat from where it was previously ripped. The car has an aftermarket CD player and aftermarket speakers inside the doors/hatch. The steering wheel has been replaced with a “Mugen” styled steering wheel that is black with red stitching.
The random:
The car is currently rolling on a set of 15 inch Rota Autox’s. The wheels are wrapped in a set of Falken Azenis; the tires have around 70% of the tread left.
The car has a set of aftermarket amber corner lights.
The car also has a Si front lip.
The Bad:
As with every car out on the road, there are a few issues to deal with. The body is not 100% perfect. It has rust, a door ding here and there, and some faded paint issues on the roof/ hatch and passenger side quarter. I personally think the car is in good shape for its age, and compared to most CRX’s in the state of Wisconsin.
On the inside of the car it is missing its climate control, I never thought of it as a big deal seeing that the car should only be driven in the summer anyway.
The car is currently throwing a CEL because of the TPS sensor. After I changed throttle bodies the check engine light came on.
Overall this car is great, but people change and begin to look for different things. I have taken exceptional care of this car, and I am meticulous with maintenance. I think it is time for me to move onto another car, possibly another hobby. I am looking to see whats out there for trades. However I am willing to sell the car outright. Make me an offer; take into consideration what you are looking at, a low mileage CRX HF with a great motor set-up built with top notch quality parts.
