Which setup?
I am prepping my 93 civic si hatch for autocross and was wondering which setup would be best for lowering my car. I was thinking about a few options, neuspeed race springs with kyb agx shocks, or ground control coilovers with agx's. Which setup would be more beneficial, the springs or the ground controls, keeping in mind that I don't really have the money to spend on koni yellows. Or, if those ideas don't sound too good, what else would you recommend for around the same price?
Save up for the Konis. If you get into it, you'll want them later on. Ground Controls for sure, once again thinking ahead when you get really into it. You don't want to have to rebuild the whole suspension once you feel your current setup is no longer where you want to be. Buy right the first time, I wish I had
Thanks for the advice, I'm sure that all the other hardcore autocrossers will probably agree with you. I'll probably save up then, assuming that I will get hooked once I start. My only other question is this, would it be more beneficial to get full coilovers such as Apexi WS, which would cost around the same as ground controls and koni yellows, or would the ground control koni combo be better?
I'm not an autocrosser, so what do I know.... BUT...
Can't you change just the shocks and remain in the stock class? If this is true, what about buying just the Koni's and running on your stock springs. Then, you could consider changing springs later on... just a thought, and I may not know wth I'm talking about.

Good suggestions...but I don't want to just be riding around on stock springs and konis, I also want to lower the car, for looks and performance. I wouldn't mind being in a higher class either, because I would also have other modifications that would probably put me into another class, such as STS.

the koni yellows have adjustable perches that allow you to lower the ride stance somewhat. but, i'm not sure how much you can lower the vehicle. so, going the koni yellow route with stock springs, you still could lower the vehicle. also, the neuspeed koni yellows are 20mm shorter, plus they have five perch positions, as opposed to the standard yellow's three perch positions. just a thought or two to consider.
Yea I understand that, but I know that the drop probably wouldn't even be noticeable. It's not like they're coilovers where you can drop the car as much as you want, I get what you are saying tho.
I will cast yet another vote for the GC/Koni yellow route.....
Just be sure you order the GC's that have the Koni perches in them, it allows you to get away from using the lower spring cup on the Koni. Additionally, I would recommend the Neuman/Neuspeed Koni's as opposed to the off the shelf model... they are shorter for lowered cars, have 5 lower spring perch settings as opposed to 2 and have slightly higher internal gas pressure (stiffer).
