Alpine alarm, complete with pager. Still didn't help...
Look at it this way. If they Really want it, NO alarm is going to stop them.

Stolen Rs have had everything from AutoLock to $1000+ alarm system with LoJack etc.

Makes no difference. Spend your money on extra insurance.

Yup, insurance is way more important than any alarm.

Alarms just buy you time, Thats about all. You can get a nice pager alarm, but if you are too far away, then that pager isnt gonna be worth ****. Just get some kind of pager alarm, ign kill, fuel cut off, auto lock, the club, and dead bolt your hood. with all of that, you buy yourself like 2 min if that

or a gargage with a lock... out of sight = out of mind (in some cases) But as someone said- if they want it, they will get it.

Even with the pager alarms...Is your car *really* worth getting shot/stabbed/beaten for?

Seems like things have quited down a bit....
The thefts seem to go in cycles though, so we'll see.

Theres really nothing you can do from what I've seen. People have had the car blocking their ITR in moved, and then the ITR stolen, all the while only a few yards from the guys bedroom window. We've had people watch their ITR being bushed by another car down the road. We had guys with custom GPS units hooked up to laptops and cellphone modems that dials into a server, stolen and never seen again. etc, etc, etc...

But, on the bright side, I've also seen a few potential thefts be detured. One, a guy had a pager, and ran out to see guys in his car. Another one, some guy had lojac, and they traced it to a kids house that had the motor hanging over a civic ready to drop in.

I remember reading about a guy who heard his dog barking, and as he looked out his window he saw his ITR backing out the driveway. It was in a locked garage...

HELL NO IT AINT...I see the pager alarm as a way to be "informed" you can say, that your car is being stolen. It gives you a chance to call the cops/lojack before its long gone. Thats my opinion on what a pager alarm is for.

Now i have had people break into my car in the past, and the pager went off, and i went running like michael johnson in the 100m dash. It was stupid..very stupid..and will never do it again..

btw: i got lucky..the people were amatures and got scared when they saw me coming

That would be one of the most horrible sights.

I've had my firsr car stolen. If they want it, they'll take it. Of note, I just called my insurer to see about insurance for a 2003 Z06. Funny, the insurance would be LESS than my 98 type R althought the value of the Z06 is about 3 times that of the R.

Best way to stop theives is have a borken clutch . The theives only made it about 500ft. Another thing that helped was the police pulled up as there were trying to exit the lot.

I had Lojack and the Autolock. Almost 6 months has passed and not a trace of my ITR has been found. I thinking it's in another country

Oh yeah, like StunnaDion said, if thieves want your car bad enough, they will not give up till they get it!

I had a Lojack installed when I bought it. I plan to add a paging system when I have time to install it. I've also got great insurance (doesn't cost that much). My key is not parking anywhere that people can mess with it. I either have it in my garage at home or at work. It's safe both places.

WTF? What have we come to when people take attitudes like this? I think this is plain wrong! People should be asking themselves "Is stealing a car *really* worth getting shot/stabbed/beaten for?" NOT the other way around!
