Shifter bushing question

Default Shifter bushing question

Does anyone know how to install the shifter linkage bushing that connects to the tranny easier and faster, it so hard to push in, any tips or tools that could help me do it? tried a c clamp still to hard. thanks

Have you tried lube?
WD-40 or soapy water should help you..

yeah, some of those bushings are a bitch to get in. i put the bushings in my swap linkage, and it was hard, i used wd-40 too.

I wouldn't recommend wd40 for plastic/rubber parts...it can eat them up. silicone spray or soapy water will be better

Dont try to push it straight in, put the bushing in at an angle. get one side to start in and then just pop it in.

Easy money.

i've only ever had that problem on cheap roller blade wheels when i was like 12. i think a higher quality material would be ok. i mean, its going UNDER your car. rocks, dirt, road salt, cats, and **** will be hitting and getting all over those bushings. an oil leak. ect....
