Type R Production in US
Now, I've heard a lot of different numbers for the number of ITRs produced within every given year. First it was 500, then 1000, now 1500 and 600???? How many were produced in each year?
'97 and '98 probably had lower production output than the latter years right?
How many were there?
00 NBP ITR #00-0941

Dont forget, PY was the fastest of all colors due to the decreased drag created by the extra smooth and sextsay yellow.
Rguy, who admits if CW was offered in 2000. he MAY have drove off with it.

lol!
but seriously, is it true that in 2001 Honda produced/sold more PY then NBP/FBP because the dealers had more demand for PY's then FBP's in 2000?
(for those unfamiliar - PY=yellow, FBP/NBP=black, CW=white)

Something like 480 in North America in '97.
About 1023 sold in the US in 98.
And somewhere areound 1500 in each of 2000 and 2001.

It's sad too see the number's dropping by the day......

I think for Canada it was about 200 in '97, 300 in '98....don't know about the rest as I have a '98 and stopped looking for that info
According to the registry at http://www.itrca.com, Canadian 1997's appear to start after #377. Yet, the above letter specifies 318 for the US.
Canadian 1998's look to be scattered throughout the year for the US and Canada, not just at the end like the '97's.

A friend of mine has had 2 97's. He still has one of them. One was #324 and the other was #322. Can't remember what the # is on the one he still has. The other was stolen and stripped after he got rid of it. Some genius kid brought it to college w/ him in Boston

You just need to find out who has the highest number for each year and that will tell you the production... Acura didn't repeat numbers in each market.. They are numbered on the assy line and then shipped to the market they are destined for.
Nobody else in the fleet has my number, in Europe or otherwise...
R production is actually quite low ( really low...)
