where is timing mark on b18a1?

where is timing mark on b18a1?
I have the helms manual
I have tuned my d15b ez
I can see the rib on the timing cover that is for reading the mark
I CANNOT see any of the crank pulley, the timing cover extends over the edge of the pulley
there is no play in the cover, it does not look out of place
but there is no pulley surface visible to read the timing, either the tc or belts cover the pulley completely at the location of the indicator in the tc.
am I missing something obvious?
anyone else had trouble finding the pulley surface at the indicator?
