The best way to improve the performance of any car is to tighten the nut behind the wheel (ie- attend a racing school or autocross). As for your car, all Civics are four cylinders. What year and model?

 

Agreed. Start autocrossing your Civic, stock!

 

Word. My mom used to autocross her '93 Accord EX wagon (automatic) on snow tires and would keep up and often beat Saleen Cobras (no ****). She now dual- drives my car and has taken first place in Woman's D-mod (club specific class, not SCCA class, but same as D- mod, but for women only) for the past two years.

And she rides her Harley to the events.
