Racing other cars doesn't classify as babying a car last I checked.

But what do I know, I've never babied any of my cars.... They aren't made for that.

Does it ever reach operating temp? Sounds like you have a stuck open thermostat or the thermostat that is in the car is to low of a temp and the fan kicks on before the car gets up to normal operating temps. Is your fan hooked up like stock where it kicks on at a certain point and to a plug or is it wired to run as soon as the key is turned on?

Also what ECU are you running?

115 is the stock speed limit. Does the thermostat open up? One time I recieved a JDM block with a low temp thermostat and in the middle of winter the thermostat would not open up.
