Default Houston: Widebody, RB25DET swapped FD RX7! Crazy!!

I'd really like to share this with you guys. I recently did a photoshoot of this amazing car!

This FD RX7 is owned by Brent Villareal, the marketing director for TunerlifestyleTV.com, an online magazine/media site. Cool stuff! Brent is also one of the members of Team Senbou... what an insane team!

The car is an FD RX7, painted Monterey Blue (Lamborghini Murcialago), sits on a massive set of HREs, and is powered by a Nissan RB25DET. I'll post a mods list afterwards.

Definitely one of the nicest cars I've ever photographed. Photos below, remember you can click any of them to view my photostream, more photos, and my other work as well!

We didn't plan bay shots, I wasn't too prepared, and his bay (and his motor build) is not nearly finished... it wasn't quite as clean as the rest of the car, either. Anyways... the RB swap!

That car is amazing!
I love the side shot, such clean lines.
I am not a big fan of putting other x motors in x car but creative non the less, vary impressive.

Thanks for the comments He just wanted to try something different, had the motor already, and experience with them as well.

I didn't make the video, but I think at the time it wasn't ready to hit the streets yet, he was having some issues.

Its all fine and dandy now, and I'm hoping there is a new video here in the future!

It's beautiful, and everything about the car is perfect...truly perfect.

But it just doesn't do it for me for some reason.

Superhatch, I understand, I've felt that way about cars, too.

Seeing this one in person really did it for me, it has so much presence, it sounds/looks/drives amazing, gets lots of attention, its really something else.

X2.
Lots of respect for all the work that has gone into it, and the pictures are amazing.
All parts look beautiful individual, just as a whole it doesn't work for me.
The stance looks a bit off to in this pic:

The video was only a teaser since the car was not finished. At the end of the vid he did say look for part 2.

What are your reasons for leaving that motor in? First of all the RB25 is a much stronger engine than a rotary. The motor was readily available and a Rotary motor has to be rebuilt about every 50,000 miles due to its apex seals.

I think its best to find out the reason and thinking behind the build and why someone does something and then offer constructive criticism.

The car looks great.

But....RB25?? Heavy and inefficient just doesn't fit the FD program, IMO.

Looks amazing; though I'm a bit confused as to why they replaced a crappy engine with another crappy engine.

It looks like they need to lower the rear more.
