Piston to head clearance
Im getting ready to clay my motor again and i was just wanting to see what you guys think is a safe piston to head. Setup is a h22 with f22 crank and rods arp rod bolts h22 type s (oem honda not nippon) pistons and a cometic .040 gasket. That should put me around .020 piston to head. I think thats to tight should be around .035 to .040 right?

Looks like the pistons were in the right way on that engine. lol
0.020" is probably enough, as long as you have that everywhere. If the piston has a high spot, like the "IN" in your picture, then that can be knocked down flush with the surface. Stock H22 chambers don't look like your picture, so make sure the corners of the pistons also have clearance where they get close to the recessed chamber in the H22 head.

Thats what i was woried about was rod stretch. Yea thats the way my head looks. My quench pads have been welded and then the head resurfaced so my quench pad is now my head
