Default Need help with this Crx HF please.

ok so my freind just bought a crx from this girl across the street for 800$
and ive been doing all the work to it, to get it ready for inspection.so far ive done
spark plugs wires headlights oil change..

and then today i installed a stereo and replaced all the speakers with new pioneers.. well after i did all that the gauge cluster light didnt work anymore for some reason... also i went around the block and got pulled over luckily it was just the tail lights, and the cop was cool

question is anyone know what could be causing the gauge lights, and brake lights to not work? oh and the brake lights work when i hit the brake but when im just driving they dont. oh and the control panel with the ac and all that, lights dont work either.

any help is much appreciated.

I have had this problem before and if I recall correctly it was a fuse under the hood... check them out.

I had the same problem in my accord. I blew the fuse under the dash and the one under the hood. If its your brake lights and guague lights then probably your horn does not work either. Its a under the hood fuse.

not sure its cold as hell out side right now. should be radio one/brake light/horn ect... just pull them all out one at a time and check. ones that a black take a flash light to or replace them with ones you can see. I got some sweet neon ones they are kinda lame but its so easy to see if they are blown. good luck.

Just like other fuses pull them out and look at them. It should be one of the small ones if you blew a main one then you would have other issues i'm pretty sure. If not then some how you cut a wire when you were installing the stereo. Good luck.

Sounds to me like you have a wire connected wrong in the stereo, you may have possibly hooked the old dimmer light for the stock stereo up to a power connection on the deck, you may want to pull the stereo and disconnect any power wires completely and see if this solves your issue.

My heater and radio had a mind of their own. They would work and not work, go on and off for no reason. Someone here told me to take apart the ignition switch and clean the contacts. When I pulled it apart it was so gummed up with like a grease substance I couldn't believe it. I cleaned it off, put it all back together, and everything in the dash has worked fine since.

I believe there is a main power wire that leads from the ignition to the dash area there for power, and it was getting a random interruption from the bad connection. Maybe someone more knowledgeable about the electrical could chime in here.

Did the lights work before you put the radio in?
Did you cut wires to put the radio in or use an adapter harness?

IACV and FITV, CLEAN them and REPLACE ALL o-ring/gaskets - that should take care of it.
