ok here's the back story....d15 block z6 head and everything else. put it together today.
the car turns over but will not start. it's getting fuel i've seen and smelled on plugs. its getting spark to all wire ends.


just a theoretical question if i put the head on with crank 180 from tdc would this be my problem. i'm not sure but i couldn't find the tdc marks on crank so i just put 1 and 4 up

 

You need to recheck your timing belt installation. The cam and crank are probably not perfectly synchronized at TDC1. The arrow on the cam gear must point UP and simultaneously the pointer on the timing belt cover must align with the lone TDC1 mark on the crank pulley.

 

yep that was it just got through fixing it now to put exhaust and wheels back on and test drive.
