Default A/C and Heater

heres the deal. i moved my external tach from driver side pillar and put it on the center console like 2 inches behind the shifter. after doing this, i tried to turn the a/c on and nothing. so i tried the heater and nothing. non of the panel lights come on there. i check the fuses and none are burnt out. not sure is somewhere wires are touching, but just tring to see if this is a common problem or not. Also, since my car was stolen a while back, i installed toggle switches and a push button instead of replacing the ignition. could that be a problem?

How are the ignition switch wires hooked up to your button and toggles? Sounds like the IG2 terminal of the ignition switch may be disconnected or faulty.

Do you have a test light? It will help you big time in wiring problems like this.

Also what good is a tach 2 inches BEHIND your shifter???

Basically i connected it to the ignition on the other side of where the key is. Not sure of what its called. I have the correct wires relayed and it works perfect. the a/c and heater just went out when i moved the tach recently. what is the IG2 switch and where is it located?

The ignition switch is the white plastic cylinder that the Key cylinder goes into, its in the steering column.

You should know this if you bypassed it with a toggle switch already because those are the wires that you would've had to tap into.

As for your HVAC power, you probably knocked a ground wire loose. Trace back all your steps and re-check all your wiring.

The IG2 terminal/wire from the ignition switch powers the heater fan and A/C. Perhaps it has been disconnected.

check the IG2 terminal and thats just fine. nothing irregular about it. traced it, no crimps or splits. would there be anything else? the lights on the climate control panel come on now, but neither work. trying to see if its an easy fix because im not trying to take it to honda here in hawaii...toooooo high, prices are ridiculous.
