A girl in a 91 Sabb 4dr turned into my lane from a stop and I hit into her car. I pressed on my brakes as hard as I could. It was 2 lanes, she was in the left, I was in the right comin down the road. She was at a dead stop in at a green light with her blinker on to turn into my lane. She turned into my lane, and BAMM.

Will have pictures Shortly. Left fender, light, turn signal are damaged. Hood is bent, and bumper is all messed up. Will check under the hood shortly.


Few Questions.
1.) How much would you think this will cost?
2.) Think JDM Front End will be reasonable for this? or no?

Sorry about the accident but from your description above, I can't make out whose fault was it? Hope nobody was hurt.

Even if a JDM isnt feasible, you can still take the estimate and put it towards a conversion and save a huge chunk of $. The headlights are expensive, but if you work with a shop that will give you a huge estimate...you may be ok.

You'll end up dropping extra $ on the conversion though Im sure.

 

It was clearly her fault. She admitted it right away. She was 19 as well. very upset about it too. I actually felt bad for her. She never stopped crying (guess i have a huge heart)

Anyway. Acura just replaced my headlightes under warrenty too.

Digi cam pics in about 20 mins.

If insurrance doesnt pay for the JDM. Then I wont get it. I dont have the money.
Also if anyone here knows the prices...or has any All metel JDM complete kits. Let me know..I would prefer Nick if he can get me it..Just want a reciept with it..I would kinda need it

Well, hopefully the girl's insurance company will pay up enough to get that kit for ya. But really consider the JDM, cuz if it was me, i'd kick myself later for not taking the opportunity to get the conversion(even if i did have to pay a lil too). But when my old roomate got in an accident, the other party's insurance company used a third party consultant/inspector to make a quote for the damage, so unless you are handling it privately, i don't know if a body shop you kno can even help you get a better settlement. It seems like all the damage is superficial which wold be great... shoot i'd hate to be in an accident but my paint is faded to hell and i'd love a lil fender bender to finance my new paint job.

 

I am going to college soon, I really dont have any extra money at all. im still payin off my credit cards.

ur going to have to pay some money. if thats all it is and your hood needs to be replaced on not fixed then this is what acura parts from honda go for:

hood...485.00
light....479.00
fender 368.00
bumper cover....255.00
ITR lip 389.00 (for the life of me i can figure out why a lip is more than bumper)

these where the prices i was quoted when my car was smacked up. i needed entire front end except passanger side fender. i also needed power steering belt and resovoir, new rim, and radiator.

all in all they gave me 4000.00 in parts plus 3000 in labor minus my 500 deductible

 

damn sorry to hear about your accident.. I wouldn't care if she was cute I'd be furious if someone hit my car/got in front of me suddenly and caused me to unaviodedly hit them... anyway the JDM conversions about $3K if I was presented w/ the opportunity I would get the JDM conversion.. I have been wanting this for a long long long long time but can't justify dropping that much cash when my front end is perfectly good and functional but if I was presented w/ your situation I'd be getting a JDM front end and making up whatever difference....

good luck w/ everything and I hope her insurance covers it... your entitled to pick the parts and shop that goes on your car/does the work.. just go to premium body shops and let them know the situtation (that insurance is paying and that you want a JDM front end) and they'll do the rest.. get 3 or 4 estimates for insurance to see..

Hmm, looking into JDM only is insurance pays for it all.
Other idea was shaave the badge off the front USDM stock bumper when i get it done.
What involved with this. should be cheap since its a brand new bumber right? what would I tell the people at the honda certified paint place?

 

Just curious, but how did your valve cover get scratched up in this pic??? It doesn't even seem like the damage reached that part of the car...

Alright, So the headlights on the JDM kits are NOT D.O.T. approved...and its ilegal due to the 1x1 Rebar in front. Compared to the 4x4 in the USDM. Which makes it horrible in low speed crashes.

My other option is going to be to shave the badges off the bumper when I have the work done...What would this cost me since the only thing I would be paying for is to have the holes filled? Bumper, paint, labor is all covered by the girls insurance.

Well I was in the same situation with ya last year. I didn't drop the cash on the JDM cause it was expensive. I mean sure it looks nice and all but not to mention it attracts the wrong people as well. Going to college with a souped up integra and you're asking for it. So just get the car fixed as planned and have some spare cash for whatever ya need.. maybe books and misc expenses! You'll be glad
