My car is making this wierd growling noise and i noticed its coming from my shifter, now it only happens mostly in 1st or 2nd gear once i hit abour 2500 rpm's or higher that growling sound kicks in but i just have no idea would could be causing it. By the way my tranny does not grind or pop out and all gears work fine. The shifter is a skunk2 dual bend.

Sounds like the shifter is hitting on the exhaust in far left gears. Is it a swapped car? Mine rattled against the exhaust for awhile after my swap until I got the exhaust lengthened about 1.5" in front of the cat.

Put it in first, then get under the car and wiggle the exhaust around. How close is it to the bottom of the shifter? Is it hitting at all?
