Looking for Civic Wagon Pro's...Simple suspension q's...
Hey guys I'm in need of some guidance on a 1990 Civic AWD Wagon I just picked up. Sorry it got so long...
The Story:
It was riding on chopped aftermarket lowering springs of some kind. It was so low it was ridiculous. It even has the OEM mudguards and they were literally mm's from the ground and rubbed the ground on every pebble you ran over...needless to say the shocks were all dead.
I bought some brand new Macpherson shocks off Craigslist(they were listed for wagons, so that was my fault for trusting the guy). I installed the new shocks and installed some brand new Tein S Techs my roommate had laying around for the last few years(designed for 88-91 Civics, 1.4-1.5" drop). After the install the car was still very low...roughly 2.5" in the fronts and slammed atleast 2.5" in the rear. Still way too low for my liking.
I did some research at the local Checker Auto Parts and found out that the spring perch on the wagons is about 3" higher up from the bottom mounting then the shocks I had on the car. Does that all sound correct guys?
That being said, if I get the correct shocks and run the Tein's, will it essentially lower the car 1.4"-1.5" from the wagon's already slightly higher height?(that was my original intention)
Thanks a ton for any info.
Mark
