Default overheating problems with my gsr turbo

i have a 97 gsr turbo 7psi ive been having over heating problems and idle problems since i bought the car a few months ago. any ways i changed the thermostat when i was doing that i found out that it has been runing with out one so i put a new one in this fixed my high idle of around 2k. let it sit and idle dident over heat. then i went out on the highway and it overheated i hooked up the fan directly to the battery since i wasent comming one still overheated tho. any one with a similar prob or know whati shoould try next? sorry for the long message thanks

Try letting the heat up with the radiator cap off for about 20-30 mins. Rev the engine gently every 5 minutes or so to help circulation. This will do two things, it will release any air bubbles if there are any you should see them float up to the top where the cap would be.

On the other hand if you see a rush of bubbles that never seem to stop no matter how long the cap is off then perhaps you have headgasket issues.

Both are causes of overheating as well..

Is everything wrapped? If not I would reccommend that as well if no air bubbles show.

I am assuming as well the fan you are using is not a piece of **** autozone fan right?
