Default Ls-VTec Question

Before you flame - I have searched and that is exactly why I am posting.
I have a 96 Ls integra, and I'm about to put a gsr head on it.
Some guides say I will need a v-tec water pump, gsr oil pump, gsr timing belt.
Others say I can use ls water pump and timing belt, but to get the gsr oil pump.
And a few others say I can use ls oil pump but need gsr waterpump and gsr timing belt.

Which one is it?

Default Re: Ls-VTec Question

If you have a 96 block you have the same oil pump as GS-R's and ITR's. All 96-01 Integras used the exact same oil pump.

You have to use the water pump and timing belt for the same application, and it has been shown that the GS-R water pump w/ a larger sprocket and more teeth will turn slower and actually pump the water through better.

Before you do anything else, read this entire thread, and read it carefully. It covers your questions and much more. Then post back if you have more questions.
