Is Seafoam on a 300k+ miles Eg a good idea?
I have a 92 EG with 318,00 miles i just bought the car it runs good but not sure if it has any history of engine problem i was wondering would it be a good idea to use seafoam on it any help is appreciated people ONE.
I think you'd like to read through an existing Seafoam thread before doing so.

I'll let you make your own conclusions.

i think i should just leave the seafoam out i read sometimes the build up is normal for a car with so many miles thanks tho.
Seafoam would be alright to use on your car, just use a lil less then the recommended amount. Check my post in that seafoam thread (last page, prolly the last post). My method is 1/2 in oil, 1/2 in gas, fromt eh one liter bottles you buy. If I were you, I would use instead only 1/4 in the oil. You prolly dont know if carbon buildup is keeping something sealed when it needs to be replaced. The lesser cleaner would be more gentle to your engine
when you look at your motor is there any leaks anywhere. If the motor is new no leaks what so ever it should be fine but if you see oil leaks and motor it dirty dont do it.
Ok thanks ya I've used Seafoam before but none of the cars I used it in had this many miles I usually do the 1/3 on tank, brake booster, and oil but I had heard it might noe be good for cars with so many miles due to the carbon build up and that a motor with so many miles could probly get worse instead of better with the seafoam my engine looks good the head gasket is good no oil. On it I usually use a ketchup bottle I bought like the diner type to put the seafoam through the brake booster just an idea if someone that's reading this forum and has never used seafoam might find usefull lol by the way thanks people good deeds ONE

It's not recommended for cars that have never been seafoamed before, and above 150,000 miles. This is due to the carbon buildup that has been in your engine for soo long, as stated above.
Ya I read up on that screw it I might just leave it alone cuz I might sell my hatch to get an SI in a few months and he car runs really good I just thought of using the sewafoam on it beforre I did a whole tune up on the car but I don't wanna screw the engine and spend 450$ on a jdm one before I sell it but thanks anyways people good deeds ONE.
I bought a 93 CX with 64,500 miles. The engine compartment, undercarriage and body were immaculate. The engine oil was filthy. I could do an oil change and the new oil was immediately dirty. It was like they never changed the oil. I bought GUNK engine oil flush. Used it as recommended but changed the oil twice after using it to flush it completely. It worked great. That was my experience in a D15b8. I figured if I ruined the motor it was time for that swap!
