Need input - LS parts car or ITR tranny?
Well, I have a B20 VTEC civic in my drive right now a spider gear on my counter. So I need a transmission. And being in the Spokane, WA area, these things don't pop up often.
Looking around, I'll have to pay somewhere in the range of $1000 to $1500 after shipping for an USDM ITR transmission. While this would be nice, I don't want to just ebay a transmission and get screwed, so would like to wait to deal locally.
Other option is a friend will likely be selling a DC2 Integra LS for $1000. Thinking I could just use that for parts, pull the tranny and bolt it up (and see how long it lasts) along with doing the brake and rear sway bar upgrades, plus what other parts I may need to use. Then just part the rest of the LS out.
So, in short - order a ITR tranny somewhat blindly, or buy a parts LS and wait for a local ITR tranny to pop up.

go with the ls man.. you get tons of other things with it and you can make some money parting it out if you want to do that.. also if your just driving around then the ls tranny isnt so bad.. plus you will be savings some gas on the freeway. But finding an ITR tranny locally for a good price is very rare.. so keep on a look out for one..
Option 2 sounds good if you can deal with the longer LS gears. Plus you will have all those extra parts and can make some money parting it out.
All, parts LS it is. Now, the one thing that concerns me is how well will the LS transmission hold up to the extra torque and power of the B20 VTEC?
Just a bit concerned because, well this is some of my last transmission
