So I have a friend buying an EP3 from a honda engineer, and the car has 92k miles and it's an 02. Clean as all hell but the C.E.L. is on. He has all the records and he's replaced the gas cap because the previous one was loosing sealent.

Does anyone know of this problem existing in the EP3. I know this particular car is moe controlled by the computer than anything so maybe it's the car being very **** about the gas cap so it throws on the check engine light (c.e.l.)

Anyone have any info on this, lemme know please. thanks.

 

maybe the cap is really no good anymore but if it has been changed then there is another problem... the car has a problem and there is always a solution to it you just got to find it!

 

can it be where the car was hit once by the side and was fixed thus gas cap is kinda loose which cases the check engine light?

 

Is it the correct gas cap? I forgot to put the cap on my EJ8 once and the CEL came on. Replaced it with another gas cap and the CEL stayed on. Got one from the dealer and it fixed it. So... either you have the wrong gas cap and its not making a good seal, or there is a leak in the system causing it to not build pressure.
