Default Alternative to the H22

I have some questions, where do I start....

First off I have a 96 Accord Coupe, I have decided to forgo the standard H22A swap for now.

1. Will a turbo manifold off of a F22B fit onto the F22A? From my understanding the only difference on the F22's is the head.

2. Is a T3/T04 a streetable turbo? Does it spool up quick? Does it have top-end power?

3. How will I manage my engine? Hondata doesn't have anything on the Accords, but from my understanding I can get a p28 ecu and use that. Start from SCRATCH and tune my way up, which I think would be a real headache.

The only company that I have found that has a semi-comprehensive kit is F-MAX. Which isn't a bad company at all, but this is what it all includes:

- T4/T3 Hybrid Turbonetics Turbocharger
- High Carbon Cast-Steel Turbo Manifold
- Mandrel-Bent Downpipe
- 3D Map Additional Injector Controller
- Tial 35mm External Wastegate
- 440cc Lucas Fuel Injectors (2)
- Spearco Front-Mount Intercooler
- 2 Bar Map Sensor
- HKS Racing Bypass Valve
- High Flow Air Filter
- MSD Ignition or rIdeal Head Gasket
- All Necessary Hardware and Fittings

On top of this I still need the following:

*Turbo timer
*Walbro fuel pump
*Apex-i AVC-R
*A/F, boost, and oil pressure gauge.
*Gauge pod
*Downpipe
*Blockguard or have the blocked sleeved.
*Some kind of fuel management

Since the kit only comes with 2 extra 440 injectors, do I need to buy an additional 2 injectors? Do i need new injectors at all if I am only planning on running 7 psi of boost. I do plan on running on stock internals, if the engine gives out, then I plan on doing the H22A swap.

Thanks in advance.

You don't need a downpipe... the FMAX kit comes with one.

The FMAX kit tells you to put the 440C injectors into the intake... not replace the stock ones, that's why there are only 2 of them. The 3D fuel injector controller that the kit comes with is used to control the fuel...

What I would do is dump that fuel setup, get bigger injectors to replace the stock ones...

If you are really serious about boosting a lot... then lower compression pistons, rings, and rods are a must...

Thanks, I understand the two extra injectors now. Okay, would 440's be okay for running 7 psi. How is everyone managing their fuel and engine? I really don't know how I'm going to work with the stock ECU.

Hondata is a good way to go for engine management.

for 7 psi with the fmax kit, just use what they give you, its a pretty good fuel controller and will work fine...stick with the stock ecu and let the MF2 system do its work...

are you sure the kit doesn't come with a fuel pump?

also, why an AVC-R??? that's one hell or a pricey and complicated boost controller. Dont get me wrong, its really good, but overkill.

as far as the turbo timer goes, to save some money, you could make your own.
we are in the process of making one for my friend's car.
it SHOULD work fine, we're going to finish it up tonight and i'll post back with results and show how to do it.
the total cost is only going to be around $25, so that's going to save some money.
also, it want look so ricey this way, imo.

I agree, the Greddy Profec B works better than most of the high dollar controllers and has a hi and low boost setting.
