JRSC on stock 2000 type r
i dont want huge numbers with my car but i know that if i got the JR supercharger and then got it tuned with a Hondata s300 i could get another 50 horsepower or so. but i dont want it to ruin my car since its stock. im new to all of this, ive heard that its pretty much just bolt on.
Could a stock Type R motor handle a JRSC without upgrading internals?

my R made 250whp on 9psi (stock block) with jrsc.... do a search, it all about the tune
You will have no problem with the JRSC with Hondata and correctly tuned. Stay under 7psi and it will do 220whp with issues.
We have built many SC and turbo ITR motors.

A kamikaze header is probably a good idea too and if you can tolerate it, at least a 2.5in. catback or a heavily resonated 3.0in unit would be ideal for street/track.
Beyond that, the LHT cooler would be essential on track.

I would only suggest the LHT intercooler or water injection system if you're serious about really racing your car on the track. Its a $1,000.00 investment. A kamakazi header would help with a few hp.
Basically, everything ^^ guys said.
In case you were wondering, I've a 98 GSR-JRSC, 440cc injectors, upgraded fuel pump, dc header, tuned, I made 217 to the wheels. Not big numbers, but can keep up with quite a few cars on the street.
Good luck!
when people say its all about the tuning, what do they mean? i understand it means using the Hondata s300 or similar ECU device, but where do i take my car to "get it tuned" once i have the JRSC, Intecooler, Kamikaze header, 880cc fuel injectors, new fuel pump etc.
well i will have to use 93 unleaded street fuel unless i can find a place to get race fuel.
but i mean, when i get the supercharger installed and the Hondata s300 plugged in, do i just tell the people that i want it tuned? or what do i say?

I was in your same position. everyone telling me to get it tuned..... ok, great. what exactly does that mean? I would contact a local place that you know does Dyno tuning, a performance place, if you know of any.... Talk to them about your set up, waht you have, and then tell them you need it tuned. They can do a chrome tune, which is free, all you have to do is pay for your time on the dyno (which is expensive). But yeah, just tell them you need it tuned and they will take it from there.
This kit is far from bolt on and go. Without proper tuning your wasting your money. When I had the kit installed it made 15 hp over stock ( I had it installed in 1998, car now has 180,000 miles with 160,000 supercharged). It took me over a year of adding parts (injectors, engine management) to get it to run right. It now makes 240whp and is a blast to drive at track days. Turbos will make tons of more hp but for street and roadrace track days these kits are pretty damn strong.
in the S300 library there are a few basemaps that you can use that will tie you over till you get to a tuner who knows what they are doing.
from what I have been told, the H22A supercharged map is a better starting point than the B18C5 SC map - I guess we're going to find out soon enough.
