v-tech question?
i have a 93 civic with a d16y8 motor, i'm having v-tech problem.
i'm running a p28, unsure what wiring harness
but the wiring harness is hooked up the the solenoid, that's what came with the car. so i'm not sure if i should just rewire it to the ecu or what should i do? any idea's would be great!
ps thanks for reading

There are a few things you can do to fix the problem. Not sure which one will work. Check your oil. If your oil is to low you will not pop-vtec. I would retrace the wire from the vtec solenoid back to the ecu through the main harness and make sure it is hooked up correctly.
If your car phone doesn't work, maybe you should switch to Verizon. I hear "it's the network."
Sounds like the problem isn't a wiring issue and that it's something else. Just to be sure, check for continuity between pins A4 and D6 at the ECU and the two wires on the solenoid. If you have continuity, that rules out the wiring.

the easiest thing to do is go to harbor freight get a ten dollar oil pressure gauge connect it to the vtec oil pressure test port. Then put the front on jacks and rev the car in gear of course. You will need two people but when you get to your vtec engage point you should see the pressure immediatelly jump to 60 or more. If the pressure changes but is too low your oil is low, if it doesn't change at all it's an electrical problem in which case you can manually open the solenoid by giving it 12v. If it works when you give it the 12v then it is either your wiring or pressure switch. Also when i had a problem with mine it felt like it wasn't kicking in at all. Just when i thought i was going insane i changed the fuel filter and that took care of it. Here is a really detailed link. It is basically everything and more i just mentioned times 100 https://honda-tech.com/forums/honda-prelude-4/official-%22why-vtec-doesnt-engage%22-thread-830163/

And if you manually give the solenoid 12V that's only a mask of the real problem and your VTEC fuel and timing maps won't be working.
