Default OBD2b distributor to obd2a

Hello guys i just go finished swapping in a d16y8 into my 99 DX but ran into some trouble with the distributor they are two different style plugs i tried color matching but i have a gray wire left on one side and two blue wires on the other side??? could i just change the distributor completely over from my D16y7 to my D16y8????
here is the plug difference

Simply use the D16Y7 distributor, both are the same bolt pattern IIRC.

All of the wires are the exact same, just different colors and plugs are used. I have the wiring chart on my home computer (or search here as it's been discussed many of times) telling you which wire is what and into which position in the plug it goes.

Just pick up some OBD-1 distributor plugs and you can repin your OBD-2 distributor to it.
