Default Idle and Shaking Problem

D15b all stock minus flywheel 8lbs

i just cleaned my IACV and it idles at 1000, im looking to get it lower at about 650-750 and i seriously looked for my FITV for like 30 minutes i felt under the intake mani for the 10mm or 12 mm bolts whatever and i couldnt find it i checked for vacuum leaks by cover my hand over the throttle body and it died so no leaks, how do i lower my idle? at 1000 it shakes like crazy... and the screw is all the way in so really i have two questions, how do i fix the idle and make the shaking go away i have a feeling its my motor mounts but i dont know how to check if they are ''good'' when i rev the engine a little all the shaking stops

thanks

what motor mounts are you running? I have AVID mounts in my car and it vibrates the crap out of the car because of how solid they hold the motor into the car.

Not sure about your idle problem... My idle is a little high as well in my car and I would also like to get it down a bit.

you should be able to see your fitv under your throttle body. if you dont then you simply dont have one.

power brake the motor (put the car in gear press the brake and gas pedals simultaneously) usually you will hear a clunk which indicates a bad motor mount. as far as your idle is the ecu stock or chipped with a preset idle cause 1000 is a little high for a stock ecu ....i have a chipped p28 and i idle around 1000 all the time.

its a p28, not sure if its chipped, but p28 isnt for a d15b right? so im guessing it is chipped with a preset idle then but..

as for the power brake do you want the car on? cuase i mean i dont have three legs lol

Just press the gas and brake at the same time it's not like your dropping the clutch too, it should already be in gear. From what i hear the most obvious sign of a bad motor mount is usually cracked rubber. Usually the one on the back of the engine fails because that absorbs most of the torque. Are you saying it is idling at 1000 warm or cold or both. You can adjust the warm idle a little with the flat head screw on the tb and the cold idle can be adjusted by opening the fitv and adjusting the white nylon thing inside here is a link. Third picture from the bottom is adjusting cold idle https://honda-tech.com/forums/acura-integra-6/%2A%2A%2A-how-%2A%2A%2A-clean-your-fitv-aka-fast-idle-thermo-valve-1564019/ . If you want to see if it is chipped it is really easy to tell here is a link https://honda-tech.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1564019 . As far as locating you fitv you can use that link i gave you for adjusting it he thoroughly shows where it is. If you don't have one you may have a throttle body from a 96 or newer engine which is i think when they stopped using fitvs. The easiest way i know of to check what throttle body you have would be determining what you have on there and then if your still not sure you could narrow it down by what tb gasket you have.

the car has to be running: put it in 1st gear use the left foot to manipulate the clutch and put your right foot sideways toes pointing towards the passenger side and try to stay in one place you will move sightly if done right but not much. make sure to put the e brake down and maybe try a parking lot with some room
