cooling fan problem...

Default cooling fan problem...

It just stop working ..

I check the fuze..( good )
The fan...( good )
NOcheck lighTs..

When I open my hood I see 3 relays..( they all look the same ) how can I tell witch 1 is the cooling fan relay..?

Its a 89 civic sedan...

My fans do did not work on their own either. I ended up just wiring them to a toggle switch that I put in my dash. Turn them on when ever I want.

As for the relay... I have no idea.

Here are the diagnostic tests which you should perform before you start replacing stuff...

The ECU is not involved.
The temp sender/switch on the back of the block runs the cooling.
The AC runs the AC fan.
My AC fan realy was bad when I got the car. One junkyard sweep later and ai had a bunch of spares for $5.

Try starting it remotely by splicing the the fan wires and hooking it straight to the battery it should work if your fan is good

the relay is bolted to the passenger side fender wall with a 10mm bolt and has a few wires coming from it. it is the only one that looks like the picture posted above. it's right in front of the air box.

^ what he said. mounted to the passenger side fender. There is only one there. You can't miss it. Looking from the front of the vehicle, it is the one all the way to the left. Follow the big arrow.
