I did a search and could not find anything close to what im looking for. i'm about to do a swap in my buddys ek. he originally had a built b16 from his old si that was put into the ek hatch that he has now. the hatch was obd2a and he had the harness sent to skunk 2 and they converted the harness to obd2b. the motor didnt last because its hard to get 400 whp without breaking stuff when a dumbass mech builds your motor. (not me). now we have an obd1 jdm b16 that we are going to pick up tomarrow and im wondering if i can convert this b16 from obd1 to obd2b by swaping all the sensors over? thanx in advance

 

are you swapping the entire long block, or just swapping the shortblock ? if your doing an entire long block swap than i think you may have problems or will have to modify the obd2 distributor to line up with the obd1 head. other then that you should be good. youl have to swap crank angle sensor, id just swap over the entire intake manifold.tb. injectors and such from the old motor, you may have to swap thermostat housings or water tubing to accomodate the current coolant lines but maybe not. if your just swapping shortblocks than it will go back in no problem, just transfer everything.

 

im doing the entire longblock. a couple of sparkplugs melted so we have no clue whats inside of the block. and he found this obd1 long block so im oulling the tranny off and swapping flywheel and clutch over along with tranny. the old motor did have forged pistons,rods and i think a new crank but not 100% positive. i didnt build it.
