Default My moon roof slides open in a jerky fashion question.

after rifling through threads for a half an hour i decided to post this. I am trying to figure out why my moon roof in my 94 civic ex coupe is opening jerky? It does not do this when closing. When I add some pressure to the rear of the glass it slides open normal but when I open it up and it starts sliding back on its own, it starts to do it in a jerky fashion. there has got to be a quick fix for this.

btw, I tried cleaning out the old grease and re greasing and same thing.

Motor is going out or needs lubrication. When it is going down it has gravity working for it and force. You may have cleaned too well and not greased enough. the lubrication part is cheaper and less time consuming that the motor, ha ha. Also, take it to a glass shop and see what they say or cell them. Best of luck.

I dont think its the motor because when I add weight to the back of the glass "making it heavier" it slides open smoothly. I had it extra greasy during my trouble shooting and same thing. I thought that it may be a loose screw, so I tightened down the ones i could see.
