Hey guys I was just wondering what rpm's do you shift at and how often do you go to the gas station. I went from a Hybrid to this car, I don't know if its me or not but the Si is going through the gas rather quickly. Just curious.

I get around 24-26 MPG around town, but keep it below 5800 RPM most of the time.

 

i usually shift either 3k or 3500.
im getting 29 mpg this way.
but most of my driving is freeway.
i fill up about once a week.
and its a hair over 40 miles whenever i go into town.
since i live in the bumf*cks of the mojave desert.
it depends where i need to go also, if its lancaster, its 10 miles there plus the distance from the freeway. if its palmdale, its 22 miles plus the distance from the freeway. so add it up. yea it sounds far, but its only like 15-20 minutes on the freeway

 

I shift just before it hits 4k in my lower gears, but i drive in a somewhat hilly area so rpms need to be a lil higher to accelerate effectively which gives my engine a lil more power. when im cruising on flat roads i shift round 3.5k and when i get to the proper gear i usually cruise tween 2.7 and 3k. i get around 25-27 mpgs but i attribute that to my halfway aggresive driving.
