Sway bar buying
I'm looking to buy a sway bar kit for my 1993 Integra GS build. I can get a front and rear Suspension Techniques sway bar kit for a good deal. Front is 24mm rear is 19mm. But I have also seen the ASR rear braces (which is actually more then the ST kit). The ASR is 24mm but is just the rear brace. The ST kit is $260 for the whole thing. The ASR with brace is $380. What do you think is the best route to go?
Are you trying to fix a handeling problem? What are you going to be doing with the car? What other suspension mods do you have? Why do you think you need a front sway bar too?
Well I am actually building the entire car. I have a set of Tein SS-p's sitting here, with EDFC kit, Skunk2 LCA's, Progress camber kit, And I'll be getting a Full-Race Traction bar in a couple weeks. I'm building my motor (haven't gotten to far on that yet though). The car will see a lot of street, spirited driving, and occasional track.
Are you talking about drag racing or track road racing? the set up for each are kind of contradictory. I do some HPDE on road courses i won't be much help for drag racing if thats what you are trying to do. And what is street? do you mean it's your daily driver?
Yes it will be a seasonal DD, but a buddy of mine really wants me to go to some of his Auto-X events with him. But it will also be on the drag strip a few times throughout the summer.
like i said before you can't really set up the car to be really good at both auto-x and drag racing. if you are just going out to have fun then your set up doesn't really matter that much. If you want to make improvements you will have to pick which one you want to set up the car more for. then you can seek advise, but without one specific goal and you have not stated a specific problem that you are trying to fix by adding these parts don't expect that much help. you gotta give up some more info
You can get a beaks kit and an ITR rear sway bar (22mm) for about $150. I did and couldn't be happier.
Don't make your front swaybar bigger unless you're into the whole understeer thing.

As far as the difference between auto-x and drag that is what the EDFC is for. I can pre-set suspension settings for both situations. I can stiffen, soften, or make any adjustments needed to the coilovers to help in that situation. I guess what I am saying is that I just want to replace the stock for something stronger and more durable. Not for a specific setup as I can make the adjustments like i said above. So I'll refrase quality wise what do you think is the better setup?
And Mr. Deadman will an ITR sway bar fit on the DA. The DC is a different bar I thought

First of all you can't adjust your spring rates on your coil overs, so in fact you can't really tune how stiff or soft your suspension is. You shouldn't use your dampers to be making the suspension more or less stiff. Your dampers control how bouncy your ride is, and your spring how stiff the suspension is. I could go on about this more if you would like but that is short version, i think you could get the point. Secondly if you get a traction bar for drag racing you are going to make your car handle like crap for auto-x. the same is true if you have your heart set on a front sway bar. Both will probably help your ET a little on the strip, but make for garbage auto-x times. If you want the car to be a little competitive at both all you need is a rear sway bar, nothing to the front. I would get an LSD before i got a traction bar if you wanted to do both auto-x and drag race.
I decided to just go ahead and buy the ST set. I figure if I don't like it or can't adjust everything to my liking then I will either just sell them or save them for not next project. Thanks.
well to be honest i have poly bushings st sway bars eibach sportlines and kyb agx struts and my 96 handles like a gokart i love my sway bars i have almost no body roll and no disrespect sleeperGSR but i have them and there is no disapointment oh yea i also have a traction bar great for preloading your suspension
