Default Hyundai?!?!?!?

Article

"Hyundai’s Genesis Coupe will have a starting price of just $22,000, the Korean automaker announced today at the Chicago Auto Show. That will buy you the base model, equipped with a 210-horsepower, 2.0-liter, turbocharged, four-cylinder engine. If you’re looking for some more power, you’ll have to pony up $25,000 for the the 306-horsepower, 3.8-liter, V6 engine model."

Never thought Hyundai could pull something like this.

Too bad rev limiter is at 8k and they are a pos. Check the integra threads this was posted already. And someone crashed it. Do not want!

Oh and when u buy them they charge u an extra 1000 because it is classified as a gas guzzler. They fail!!

But they're SOOO Much fun to Drive!!! I work at a Chevy/Cadillac/Hyundai dealership. OMG SOO much fun to drive. I probably wouldn't own it (kinda ugly in person), but definitely worth a free reign test drive.

and just for Grins, here's the New Hyundai Elantra Touring... take a good look. I saw one in person on the Hyundai lot and had to stare at it to tell the difference between it and the Fit.

The coupe doesnt look bad in that pic at all.
I wouldn't spend that much money on a Hyundai, though. I'd rather get an Acura or Honda.

Hyundai really is coming up in the world. They're one of the top three highest in customer satisfaction. They must rank pretty high on reliability too. I think more than anything, it's the clientele that they draw that holds them back. All the hicks trying to come up in the world own them in our area, and they expect to go the life of the vehicle on the same fluids. That of course wreaks havoc on the internals.
They need to raise their prices a little to edge out the undiscerning multitude, and they would look a lot better.

Sorry if that sounds harsh. I work with a Hyundai Dealership here in WA. There is a marked difference between the way that low end Hyundai customers treat their vehicles and the way that the higher end clientele (that buy them for cheap commuter/town runabout).

Those are some attractive face-lifts.

I'd mob it if they were 3 grand less and had VVT. Wait do they?

Wow... with that kit, it looks a LOT like an Infiniti G35.
We have a joke with the 4 door genesis that Mercedes built the nose, Lexus built the side, BMW built the tail, and Hyundai badged it... (I may have mixed up the details, but you get the gist of it)

http://jalopnik.com/5151584/hyundai-...start-at-22000 (VVT)

Nice it has VVT. Only $22,000 for an inline-4 turbo. That's sweet. It's everything I ever wanted in a Honda.

I'd just be embarassed because of Hyundai haters from the import crowd.

Not to mention, Hyundai is new to boost. New means buggy/possibly unreliable... I'd wait for a year or two.

Hyundai had the Turbo Scoupe back in the days. Also, they've been making turbo diesel engines longer than Honda. They make engines for large commercial trucks and huge mega ton cargo ships; all with turbochargers.

Just a side note, Hyundai's first independently developed car was the Pony, a RWD 4 seater sedan/hatchback.

There's only one, on the tail. At least with the four door genesis.

Honda is going to have answer back on the next S2000 and NSX! I have a feeling that something fast is going to come out of that Honda garage in Japan when this recession stops... I can garantee it!

why would they need to answer back? economy cars sell much better and in much higher quantities than sports cars. they've built a name for themselves to vastly increase their sales. they make reliable cars that get great gas mileage.
