do you mean using diesel after you drain the oil to idle for a minute then drain?

you can use seafoam for 5000 miles with clean oil or what I did once was drain the oil, then pour about 3 litres of cheap clean engine oil, run at idle for a minute then drain again.

Diesel has been used for years to clean motors before the oil change.

You don't use just diesel, you drain some of your oil and put about 12oz of diesel and let it run for a few minutes at idle (DO NOT DRIVE THE CAR).

Or you can buy engine flush from Amsoil.com.

You can also add a quart of automatic transmission fluid instead of 1 quart of engine oil when you change it. ATF has a lot of detergent and will help clean up the engine. You can use Marvel Mystery Oil also because it has a lot of detergent.

back in the day it was done to remove the slime that built up from junk oil or infrequent oil changes. the diesel method would often free up a ticking hyd lifter. even when i bought my JDM engine which sat forever judging by the sludge that was inside it, i never did a flush. just used a synthetic that had a nice detergent sticker, ran it 1500 miles. drained and filled with redline. the engine now looks new inside.

Unless you actually have a sludging issue you shouldn't perform a flush. If you do have a sludging issue on a Honda engine you're not changing your oil frequently enough or are using the wrong oil.
VW's have a sludging problem on the Passat 1.8T's and VW recommends doing a flush after replacing the oil pickup tube...
Just use the propwer oil and change it on a normal basis and you will be fine.

I would agree with that. If your engine is getting a lot of sludge there is something causing it. With todays oil you shouldn't need to use anything else if you are changing the oil often enough.
