what are the best things that i can do to get some hp gain out of my stock ep3 blcok? Want some more speed and need some ideas.

I have a feeling, they're aiming at hp for the dollar. It's in the FAQ's... There's a list of the 5 best, or maybe 10 best mods for the EP3.

It's not a dumb question. It's a perfectly valid question. It's just a lazy way to get the answer. Because a human is ALWAYS better than a search engine, unless the humans are a**holes.

 

Answers still going to a turbo kit dude. Unless you want to run a nitrous oxide system. But they aren't street legal. So, again, boost.

Best HP gain for a budget of $700 would be:
CAI, Cat-back, or RH
Add a reflash or save up for Kpro after getting all 3. You'd be able to hang with GS-R's and RSX-S's...maybe

Or you could save up the $700 and add a couple of G's to buy boost, your choice. K24's are cheaper than K20A2's last time I checked. Look into a swap.

ESMM (Energy Suspension Motor Mount) inserts are only $25 brand new. They help prevent wheel hop.

Avid Motor Mounts also. They run about $600 I believe.

Best mod for the A3 of course is boost, though. There's not much you could do for the A3 unless you spend a ton of money. That's why people swap.

Skunk2 K20A3 Stage 1 cams would help you rev some power.
You don't need engine management, but with Kpro then you could rev up to 8-9k. (Our Redline Sux)

I was under the impression GReddy made CARB approved street legal kits. Maybe just not for the Ep3 though.

The EP is the only car I know that doesn't have a legal Greddy kit.

 

no you can have a stock boosted car(300zx, evo, sti) in cali but you will be pulled over a lot if your under 25yrs old, and almost every time i get pulled over in my hatch cops will walk to the front of my car and look for a front mount. Then play there lil mind games to try to get you admit you have any modifications. It is really sad considering the other problems we have but back to the topic,... Boost or swap.... either way itll be a chunck outa your pocket
